The Society For Human Resource Management – Long Island Chapter is the local affiliate of the national organization for Human Resource Professionals which represents more than 200,000 members throughout the United States and more than 1100 on Long Island. It is comprised of professionals who hold primary responsibility for the Human Resource function within their respective organizations, and professionals who form the critical Human Resources support staff. As part of its dedication to proficiency in Human Resources, SHRM-LI is hosting the 17th Annual One-Day Conference.

17^th ANNUAL CONFERENCE

HR: Staying in Tune with Diversity, the theme for the 2008 SHRM-LI Conference, reflects many aspects of diversity within the workplace. When striving toward a diverse workforce with regards to age, ethnicity, religion or sex, numerous issues may arise. This year’s Conference workshops will address how we view these differences and how we can strive to make them disappear as we undertake our role as HR professionals “to stay in tune.”

Conference Goals

Increase the professional expertise and knowledge of human resource professional and other business executives through training and organized learning opportunities.
Examine best practices in various aspects of HR and learn the importance and application to an organization.
Explore how to reflect the many aspects of diversity within the workplace.
